Swati Desai is a native of Southern California and attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI) where she double majored in Criminology and Environmental Analysis and Design. Upon graduating UCI in 1997 she started law school at Saint Louis University (SLU). At SLU, Ms. Desai participated in many activities such as the International Law Review, where she wrote about and researched adoption policies in the U.S. and China, volunteered at SLU’s legal clinic, Dean’s List recognition, and recipient of American Jurisprudence awards which is given to those students who achieve the highest grade and rank in the class.

Ms. Desai has successfully litigated complex financial cases to trial. Ms. Desai is a versatile family law attorney that has the unique ability to strategize with her clients and advocate in the courtroom to achieve results. She has extensive experience in handling complex family law matters involving valuation of businesses, determining cash flow, characterization of separate and community assets, tracing separate property, and handling cutting edge legal issues. Achieving a successful outcome requires strategizing and engaging in regular discussions with clients and retained experts. Ms. Desai comes from a family of business owners and understands the personal sacrifices business owners endure and the impact a potential divorce has on clients both personally and financially. Ms. Desai has successfully litigated complex financial cases to trial and but also believes that not all cases need to be litigated. There are cases that should settle either entirely or at least partially and Ms. Desai prides herself on working towards that end.
Her passion for helping others shines through her work. She is dedicated and driven as her clients are her number one priority. She is also passionate about giving back to her community. She serves as a volunteer at the Blind Children’s Learning Center and the guardianship clinic at the Orange County Superior Court. Ms. Desai has offered countless hours of pro bono legal services to the indigent population in the Long Beach area. She is also a founder and board member of the non-profit, EnlightenU, Inc. EnlightenU’s mission is to provide underprivileged children with academic support and scholarships to give them the confidence and opportunity to succeed in school. Ms. Desai is fluent in Spanish and Gujarati. She enjoys hiking, biking, and yoga. Ms. Desai also loves cooking, reading, and traveling with her family.
